Currently an opener cannot start from an RP slot as we do not allow starts from the RP position.
Proposal
RP opener acceptable "if" no SP is already pitching that day for your team, or you choose the opener instead of a Starting Pitcher(not sure why you would, but im sure there's an argument out there.)

Openers need to be addressed. Good proposal.

Is one solution to increase the 6 SP max, or make a SP/RP slot on docs (max 1)?
Different than an opener, but relievers that go into rotation temporarily and aren’t stretched out to full starter workload are also awkward to manage while in the weird limbo.

A couple of years ago we voted on something like this. Basically it was something like taking away the one point SP get for a start and allow an opener in RP slot--but the opener could not pitch more the 2 or 3 innings (I don't remember which). It did not pass the vote. We can definitely put it up again in the off season.
