Cardinals' more immediate need is pitching, and Schmidt fits that bill. Hoese is an exciting guy and hopefully can slide into my lineup when I need a 3B in the future.

Bohm is exciting and will be called up as soon as the Phillies play five games. He will mash. Best of luck, White Sox!

White Sox agree to the deal. We have been after Bohm for a while and were finally able to land him. The deal cost us Schmidt who looks fantastic but we are trying to diversify our farm. This deal accomplished that while giving us a great young arm in Walston as well as UT depth with Rojas. Thanks for the deal Cards!! We felt the same way as we had no intentions of dealing Schmidt but left with a young slugger in return
