The Minnesota Twins have made a trade with the Kansas City Royals. We have sent:
Cameron Cannon, SS (BOS) (prospect)
Jhon Diaz, CF (TB) (prospect)
For
Willy Adames, SS (TB) 2020: 1 mil, 2021: ARB 1, 2022: ARB 2, 2023: ARB 3
We think we moved two really special kids in our farm system to get this deal done. Cannon fell just short of winning a battle title- and lost it to Adley of all people. He’s a polished hitter who could be a big return for the Royals in a few years. Diaz was a top 10 international prospect who garnered a lot of attention in IFA. That being said, we didn’t have a whole lot of player depth up in the majors. Bo is our long term option at short but to get a replacement for him- who is a starter and under team control- is pretty rare in this league. We had to take a chance. We are hoping Adames continues to develop on a strong Rays squad.
