Today the Reds and Red Sox were able to come to agreement on a trade of prospects for a couple of wildcard MLB players.
The Reds traded:
Stone Garrett - OF Prospect .2
Vince Fernandez - OF Prospect .2
Gilbert Lara - SS Prospect .2
The Red Sox traded:
SP Brent Suter $1/20, $1/21
RP Joely Rodriguez $2.5/20, $2.5/21
Reds are hoping that Suter can return to pre-Tommy John surgery form and he will add to our rotation. Our scouting department really likes the upside nature of Suter and saw what Joely was able to do in another baseball league.
We hated to move on from Fernandez, but we had to meet the Red Sox on the list of prospects that they required for the deal.
