Dodgers were looking for a depth and with coverage in the OF, felt like the return on Verdugo was worth giving up a quality OF.

Thanks to Royals for patience in working this deal out while negotiating other deals to make it possible.

The Royals accept this deal and welcome Alex Verdugo to Kauffman Stadium. Verdugo comes to the Royals as the real life Dodgers are finally recognizing Alex’s talents and giving him a full-time spot in their lineup. The prospect cost was not cheap, but an up and coming player on a pre-arbitration contract for 2020 is worth it
