After a quick negotiation, and a little waiting, the Angels and D-Backs have agreed to the following trade...
D-Backs get: Spencer Turnbull, SP, Tigers. 2020/0.75M 2021/1M 2022/ARB1
Angels get: Ryan Ohearn, 1B, Royals. 2020/0.75M 2021/1M 2020/ARB1 Domingo Leyba, SS, D-Backs. 2020/0.5M 2021/0.75M 2022/1M 2023/ARB1 Sergio Romo, RP, Twins. 2020/1M 2021/1M 2022/1M 2023/UFA
For the D-Backs this was an opportunity to shore up the back end of our rotation, adding depth to an already solid staff. Turnbull has turned in some nice performances. We believe he wore down a bit during the season and then finished better. All in all he is a nice piece to have around and will fill a need for us.
We hate seeing Ohearn go. We still believe he kind find the success he enjoyed in the minors at the MLB level, but right now the 1B situation in KC is crowded. Romo is an aging, but still pretty effective RP. Leyba has some talent with the bat, but we see him more as a utility guy in Arizona...at least for now. So, this made sense for us in our attempt to be competitive this season.
Thanks to LAA for the easy negotiations and good luck this season!

LAA accepts. Though Turnbull was a nice back of the rotation option, we needed some depth and see an opportunity for O'Hearn at 1B with Dozier moving to the OF. Romo is a nice, cheap bullpen filler who seems to have figured out something in Minnesota and Leyba looks like he may have added some power and could be an injury away from some significant time.
Thanks to the D-backs for the deal!
