The first time that divisional rivals Miami and da Mets have come together on a deal
Miami receives Mark Vientos and Luisangel Acuna
Mets receive Nick Pratto and Thomas Szapucki
When the phone rang this morning Dom came along about Szapuckis availability. He's someone that we have been waiting on for quite some time and fully expect him to be at least an average big league arm. Pratto could go either way, still love the potential but today we will pay ways.
Vientos entered discussion early on in negotiations, but it was when Acuna got involved that we felt like we had a deal that we could work with.
Thanks to Some for bringing real players to the table. We wish you the best over the holidays. Cheers.

The New York Mets accept this trade.
In an effort to improve my pitching depth at MILB level I ringed up Miami´s GM to ask if Szapucki is available which was the starting point of our trade talks. With his history of injuries I consider Szapucki a high risk high reward asset. His 2019 performance after coming back from TJS is certainly reason for hope.
The Mets hurler is joined by Nick Pratto - another high risk high reward youngster. KC´s 2017 1st rounder took a step back in 2019 but I think talent will take over at some point...prospect development is not linear and this guy is hopefully too good to fail. On a side note Pratto comes back to the team which originally drafted him in 2017 and will once more take over the spot as the premier 1B prospect in the fake Mets organization.
In order to get those two high end prospects I reluctantly had to part with Mark Vientos, the Mets MILB hitter of 2019. Mark is a power hitting 3B who should make his way to MLB in the foreseeable future but since he is blocked by recently acquired superstar Yoan Moncada he was expendable. To make this trade a fair and intersting one for both sides Luisangel Acuna was added to the package. Ancuna Jr´s younger brother had some great reviews lately and is definitely a prospect that can make some noise in MILB as early as 2020.
I thank the Marlins GM for the good and reasonable trade talks and wish Mark and Luisangel all the best in sunny Miami.
Welcome to Queens, Nick and Thomas, and as always...let´s go Mets!
