Braves Trade
SP J Berrios Min 3.06 Arb2, Arb3, UFA RP R Osuna Hou 14.04, UFA
Cards Trade
SP C Carrasco Cle 9.5, UFA SP J Luzardo Oak 0.2 1B L Diaz Mia 0.2 OF M Wallner Min 0.2 P C Sneed Hou 0.2
I had never planned on dealing Berrios, he was gonna be a legitimate ace for me. I love Luzardo tho. And Carrasco I think will be a nice bounce back guy and is much cheaper to extend for a few years than Osuna who I didn’t plan on bringing back after this season. Lewin Diaz was a key piece as a much needed future 1B with power and Wallner I think has nice upside. Sneed adds to the farm. Luzardo is the big X factor here. If he can live up to potential I will be fine in this deal. If he doesn’t it will be a tough pill to swallow trading a stud like berrios.
Thanks Cards. Good luck.

Cards accept.
Bringing Berrios on board gives us an arm that has performed well at the highest level now for three consecutive seasons. This guy works hard to improve and we're excited for him to be our ace in 2020 and beyond.
Osuna is one of the best and a great addition to the bullpen.
This trade came at a cost.
Top prospect Luzardo will be missed. Lewin Diaz was difficult to part with but we're banking on Voit staying healthy and an inevitable move by Sano to 1B so we can punt on that position for now. Diaz is going to be a major leaguer and I already miss him. Sneed is a solid arm and should find a role with the Astros. And Matt Wallner is a well rounded first year prospect but we have a lot of minor league depth in the outfield.
Best of luck Braves!
