The D-Backs are again using their farm system to try and upgrade the MLB roster so we can compete for a playoff spot this season. We gave up some solid minor league talent, MLB depth, and our Swiss Army Knife to get a young, controllable 2B. This was an area we had identified as a must upgrade area, and are happy with the results. We also received 3 solid prospects in return, so even though our minors took a bit of a hit, we didn't totally weaken our future. We like Blanco and Esteban, and are very excited to see what Torres can become.

Brewers accept. While we didn't want to give up Edman, getting Taylor at half price for a year (who can fill in at 4 positions), OF depth in Duggar, and a bunch of prospects we like we decided to take the deal. Hopefully we don't lose much this year not having Edman and gain in the long run by having some of these prospects make it. Time will tell.

Thanks to the DBacks for yet another deal. Until we've swapped everyone on our rosters there's still hope for more.
