The Pirates trade:
Michael Chavis, 3B, BOS, MINORS 0.2M
The Indians trade:
Duane Underwood Jr., SP, CHC, MINORS 0.2 M
Daz Cameron, OF, DET, MINORS 0.2M
Ernesto Martinez Jr., 1B, MIL, MINORS, 0.2M
The Pirates did this deal because they need organizational depth. Cameron and Underwood are both on the cusp of being everyday players in the majors and I still have a 1B hole to fill. My minors system has a couple guys who can play 3rd base so though Chavis is a top prospect his lack of movement over the past year had me concerned that he may be forever injured and locked out behind Devers.

Chavis is a prospect we have coveted for some time and a player we are delighted to bring into our farm.
The potential for Chavis is very high and we're hoping he can begin to put it all together in the next 12-24 months.
Cameron we had only recently acquired and we had tried hard to bring him here so it's a shame to see him go so quickly. Underwood and Martinez are solid prospects who the Pirates wanted included to make the deal happen.
The first deal between the two franchises and thanks for the swift negotiations.
