After some negotiating the Braves and D-Backs have agreed to the following trade...
Braves get: Jose Pirela, 2N/LF, Padres. 2018/3.8M 2019/7.6M 2020/ARB1
D-Backs get: Eduardo Escobar, SS/3B, Twins. 2018/&M 2019/7M 2020/7M 2021/7M 2022/UFA Breiling Eusebio, SP, Rockies. 2018/.2M - prospect Dedgar Jimenez, SP, Red Sox. 2018/.2M - prospect Michael Hermosillo, CF, Angels. 2018/.2M - prospect
We wish Jose well in Atlanta. He is tough to lose because of his plus bat. But this deal helps us along with the rebuild process. We get Escobar who in the short term fills holes and in the long term is another in our collection of solid depth type pieces. The real bonus for us in this deal is getting 3 very solid prospects in Eusubio, Jimenez, and Hermosillo...welcome to the team boys!
Thanks, as always, to the Braves GM for productive and fun negotiates.

As Donnie said, pirela’s bat was what intrigued the Braves here. I actually reluctantly dealt him to Arizona a few months ago and he’s just a player I like. I am A little worried about his role with a lot of guys in the mix there but if he continues to hit he should find the playing time.
Escobar isn’t the easiest piece to lose as he is eligible at 2 positions and will start at least half the season with the polanco suspension and he gets a lot of playing time regardless. We also send some solid prospects in the deal that will hurt the farm depth but it is nice to have pirela back in a Braves uniform.
Thanks as always to the D Backs for a smooth negotiation.
