The New York Mets and the Kansas City Royals have agreed on a trade - here are the specifics:
Mets get
Rowdy Tellez, 1B, MIL
Contract: 3.75M/2023 ARB3/2024
Royals get:
Ryan Jensen, SP, CHC
Tekoah Roby, SP, TEX
Tyler Locklear, 1B/3B, SEA
All prospects
Brandon Dixon, 1B/3B, SDP
Contract: 0.55M 2023/UFA 2024
Ever since trading Pasquantino some weeks ago I was looking for a new longterm 1B and hope that I have found a solid solution with the Brewers slugger Rowdy Tellez. Although underwhelming so far in 2023 I hope for a return to his 2022 form when he hit 35 HR.
In exchange the Royals get a prospect package headlined by up and coming Padres youngster Tyler Locklear. MLB player Dixon was a throw in to sweeten the deal a little and make room on my 26 man roster.
I would like to thank the Royals GM for an always reasonable back and forth and wish Ryan, TK and Tyler all the best in their new organization.
