To LAA
Freddie Freeman, 1B, LAD - $12/22, $22.5/23 UFA (COL retains $12/22, $7.5/23) Ryan Feltner, SP, $0.2 prospect
TO COL
Frankie Montas, SP, OAK - $8/22, $12/23, $12/24, $12/25 $18(TO)/ 26, UFA/27 Frank Schwindel, 1b, CHC - $0.75/22, $1/23, ARB1/24, ARB2/25, ARB3,26, UFA/27 Aaron Zavala, RF, TEX - $0.25 prospect TJ White, WSN - $0.2 prospect Abel Bastidas, SS, DET 0.2 prospect
LAA is happy to get one of the best 1b in the game and turn our biggest hole into our greatest strength. We will remember Schwindel fondly for being an integral part of our playoff run last year, he wasn't able to build on his breakout. Feltner is another back end option who may have done potential left and provides depth with Montas gone.
Obviously we will miss Montas but we dealt from our abundance of SP. We like each of them prospects dealt but that is the cost of acquiring one of the best bats.

I thought I had a chance to be competitive this year--it seems I thought wrong. It is hard to move on from Freeman, but to get another SP under contract for a few years is one less worry should be helpful in becoming competitive quicker. Schwindel was needed to be sure I did not have an open roster spot at 1B (hopefully he sticks the rest of the season). The prospects are all a bit off, but will hopefully continue to develop well.
