Marlins trade
Michael Pineda, SP 7.4/UFA
Jedd Gyorko, 2B/3B 6/9/13/TO13/UFA
Mike Tauchman, LF/CF/RF 0.6 Minors
Brewers trade
Maikel Franco, 3B 0,56/ARB1/ARB2/ARB3/UFA
Joe Musgrove, SP 0,51/1,02/2,04/ARB1/ARB2/ARB3/UFA
Randal Grichuk, CF/LF 1.04 (Currently in Minors – TC3)
My team is slowly fading out of contention for the Wild Card so I am already setting my sight on next year. The three players I receive in this trade are former top prospects who haven´t lived up to the hype yet and I gamble on one or two of them turning the corner in the near future. In return I give away my best starting pitcher, an above average 3B who is still young himself and an under the radar prospect who can be found just outside the Top 100 at some trusted expert´s list.
We thank the Brewers for the constructive trade negotiations and wish Michael, Jedd and Mike lots of success with their new organization.

I agree to this deal. While all 3 guys I give up are young and cost-controlled, there's no question I upgraded at SP and arguably at 3B as well.
Franco was the hardest piece to give up given his potential but he hasn't taken a step forward this season as expected and would have been sent back down to the minors had he been on just about any other team in baseball.
I hated giving up Grichuk because of his multi position eligibility but he couldn't find his swing and was already sent to the minors to rediscover it. As of yet he's still searching.
I like Joe Musgrove a lot but he's more of a control pitcher than strikeout and probably ends up a back of the rotation guy.
Pineda has his struggles away from Yankee Stadium but has had a solid season overall and can pile up the strikeouts when he's on. He will be expensive to re-sign but I will have the cap space to do so if I so choose. Or he could be a trade chip at the deadline.
Gyorko is a solid player and has dual position eligibility, a bonus.
Tauchman has pretty good stats across all levels of the minors and could force his way to the majors this year if he continues to perform at AAA.
Overall, hard to give up so much youth but I'm not yet out of my division race so this could help give me a little boost. Plus, the guys aren't old, aged veterans so they still have value in that regard too.
Hope it works out for both sides.
