The Brewers and Reds would like to announce a trade!
Brewers trade: - Chris Taylor, IF/OF, LAD - 20/$5.94 ARB2 (Dbacks paying 50%)
- Bryan Abreu, RP, HOU - 20/$0.5 TC1
- Enoli Paredes, RP, HOU - $0.5 TC1
- Jairo Lopez, RP, HOU - $0.2 prospect
- Logan Wyatt, 1B, SFG - $0.25 prospect
Reds trade: - Scott Kingery, IF/OF, PHI - $1 TC3
- Trevor Gott, RP, SFG - 20/$0.5 21/$0.75 TO 22/UFA
We had been in discussion to get Kingery in our prior LAD trade before he was dealt to the Reds. So we inquired and he was receptive. Kingery was moreso just SS coverage in case it was needed and Taylor can provide him the same thing. Turns out he likes HOU pitching youngsters and I happened to have several of those. Kingery will backup at several positions for us too but we hope he can finally cash in on his potential and become something more than just a league-average player.
Thanks for the quick talks and deal CIN. Best of luck.

The Reds and Brewers have been successful on working out previous deals so when Brewers GM Jerry reached out about Kingery, we initially weren't moving off of him. When he presented Chris Taylor, talks started moving quickly. We are happy to have the versatile Taylor and he may help us this year in a push for a playoff spot. He's still reasonably priced and we will work with his agent to shore up a longer term deal going forward. We also moved Gott in the deal and closers are hard to come by, however, we received a RP back from IL and figured he could shore up some of our loss there.
The Houston pitching situation (IRL), is quickly becoming unstable, and we really like Abreu and Paredes are part of our roster future.
Thank you to our division rival Brewers and good luck the rest of the way!
