The Brewers and Dodgers have agreed to a trade: Brewers trade: - Brandon Marsh, RF, LAA - $0.2 prospect
Dodgers trade:
- Josh Donaldson, 3B, MIN - 20/$22.875 21/$22.875 (LAD to cover 50% in 20 and 25% in 21)
- Brandon Lewis, 3B, LAD - $0.2 prospect
We've been in trade talks for a couple days and after a previous bigger deal fell apart we were finally able to salvage something at least. Marsh was one of our best prospects and is knocking on the door to the bigs but was the piece the Dodgers was looking for in a JD deal.
Donaldson can be an offensive force when healthy but has seemingly had a recurrence of the nagging leg injuries he's dealt with in the past. We're not sure when we'll be able to get him into our lineup but with Turner's expiring deal this year this hopefully gives us a little insurance at the position for next year at least.
Getting Lewis in the deal too was a bonus as he's a kid we really like and given the time to develop could turn into a future big league player for us.
Despite the ups and downs, glad to have worked out a deal with you, Dodgers. Best of luck.

Dodgers accept the trade with Brewers... Donaldson's cost for 2021 was a salary cap concern and were looking for a prospect close to knocking on the MLB door.
With Brewers expressing an interest in Donaldson, Walsh was our target.
While Dodgers liked Lewis' power, we felt he was a few years away and could part with him to close the deal shedding a large chunk of Donaldson's salary for a hopefully returned to normal season in 2021.
Thanks to Brewers GM for keeping the lines open and getting this one done.
Best of luck to the Brewers the rest of the way.
