The Pittsburgh Pirates and LA Dodgers have made a trade....
The Pirates acquire Zach Eflin, SP PHI 2017: $0.51, 2018: $1.02, 2019: $2.04, 2020: ARB1 The Pirates acquire Miguel Gonzalez, SP CHW, 2017: $5.9M, 2018: UFA
The Dodgers acquire Jon Jay, CF, Chicago Cubs, 2017: $8M, 2018: UFA The Dodgers acquire Gerardo Parra, LF, Colorado Rockies, 2017: 8M, 2018: $10M, 2019: UFA The Dodgers acquire Jeimer Candelario, 3B, Chicago Cubs, 2017 MILB $0.2M The Dodgers acquire Jorge Ona, OF, San Diego Padres, 2017 MILB $0.2M The Dodgers acquire Jarred Cosart, SP, San Diego Padres 2017: $0.57M, UFA The Dodgers acquire Cedric Mullins, CF, Baltimore Orioles, 2017 MILB $0.2M
The Pirates made this trade because we feel like we have a chance to compete right now but I don't think that is possible without adding a couple of arms...I was also able to dump some salary in this deal which will allow me to be a player in free agency the next few years.

The Dodgers organization wishes Gonzalez, and Eflin a successful career with a great Pirates team. This trade was about stock piling younger talent to develop for the next few years. Guys like, Ona, Mullins, and Candelario are what this deal was about. We look forward to adding them to our core group of talent down the line.
