The Milwaukee Brewers and the Pittsburgh Pirates will match up on the MLB diamond(mlb world series championship rings) Sunday to complete their series.
In the Friday opener of this set, the Brewers eked out a 7-6 win. On Saturday, Pittsburgh got some revenge on a 12-2 win.
For Sunday’s game, the Brewers will be sending out Chase Anderson in the start. Across his 62.2 innings and 4-2 record this year, Anderson has a 4.31 ERA with 63 Ks and 22 BBs.
Milwaukee logged seven hits in the loss on Saturday and really couldn’t get much going offensively. Christian Yelich led the team with a 2-for-2 line and a walk.
Over on the Pirates’(custom Pittsburgh Pirates championship rings) side, they’re going with Joe Musgrove in the start. Over 93.2 innings and a 6-7 mark thus far, Musgrove has a 4.13 ERA with 78 Ks and 22 BBs. The Pirates put up a nice offensive display Saturday with 17 hits. Colin Moran was one of many big hitters on the night, finishing 4-for-5 with three RBI and two runs.
The Brewers are 17-5 in their last 22 Sunday games and 28-11 in their last 39 in game three of a series. Milwaukee is 6-0 in Anderson’s last six starts in game three of a series and 2-7 in his last nine starts with four days’ rest.
Meanwhile, the Pirates are 4-1 in their last five in game three of a series and 5-2 in Musgrove’s last seven home starts versus a team with a winning record. The over is 5-1 in Pitt’s last six in game three of a series and 7-3 in their last 10 Sunday games.
Anderson had a rough time late last month against the Reds (six earned; 5.0 innings) but since has given up just three earned over 11.0 innings across two starts (1-0).
As for Musgrove, he’s been solid in his last three outings, with a total of one earned on 15 hits over 16.0 innings (2-0). I like Musgrove to keep it going here so I’m going to stick with the Pirates(championship rings for sale) in the finale.
