The Detroit Tigers and the Chicago White Sox will meet up on the MLB(mlb championship rings for sale) diamond Wednesday for game one of their doubleheader.
In the Tuesday edition of this set, we had a rainout. That game will be made up on September 27 as part of a straight doubleheader. That makes three postponements between the two teams thus far. We’ll update if the probable pitchers get moved around. For Wednesday’s game one, the Tigers will be sending out Daniel Norris in the start. Over his 85.2 innings and 2-7 record this year, Norris has a 4.62 ERA with 69 Ks and 20 BBs. Over on the Sox’ side, they’re going with Dylan Cease in the Tuesday start. This will be Cease’s highly-anticipated Major-League(championship sports rings) debut, and he’ll get to stick in the rotation for the foreseeable future.
The Tigers(custom Detroit Tigers championship rings) are 17-36 in their last 53 Wednesday games and 16-40 in their last 56 in game two of a series. Detroit is 3-8 in Norris’ last 11 road starts and 6-21 in his last 27 starts.
Meanwhile, the Sox(Chicago White Sox championship rings) are 0-4 in their last four in game two of a series and 3-8 in their last 11 versus a starter with a WHIP greater than 1.30. The over is 5-1 in Chicago’s last six in game two of a series and 4-1 in their last five Wednesday games.
It’s been a long time since Norris has been able to get a victory—way back on May 12, in fact. Since then he’s 0-6 across nine starts, despite being mostly solid during that span.
As for Cease, he’s got a 4.48 ERA in 15 Triple-A starts this year and is widely regarded as a top 20 prospect. I doubt he’ll stay in the game long, even if he’s doing well, but I’m still going Sox here.
