NYY agree to this trade to bring in one of the leagues premium closers. It is a big investment on our end, but we feel it will definitely pay off!! He will be locked in as the closer for one of the best teams in the league IRL as he is signed with the Cubs through 2021. We look forward to having this stud closer in our bullpen! While it is always hard to give up good young arms we feel giving up James and Eveld is worth it to bring in Kimbrel. James could very well be the future closer for the Astros, or they might stretch him out again to be a starter which he excelled at last year, the key here is we are not sure what they are doing with him and we feel we are still built to we now rather then later so that made it easier to part with him. Eveld kind of falls into the same category, a ton of talent, but not sure what route the Marlins are taking with him. These two guys are perfect for a team rebuilding which Detroit has stated he is so it's a good deal on both ends.
Thank you to Detroit for the swift and easy negotiations.....Nice doing business with you!
