The Houston Astros and the Cincinnati Reds will match up on the MLB(mlb world series championship rings) diamond Monday to kick off their series.
Houston(Houston Astros championship rings for sale) is coming off a weekend set versus the Blue Jays. The Astros won 15-2 Friday and 7-2 Saturday, then on Sunday Houston was stopped 12-0.
For Monday’s game, the Astros are bringing out Wade Miley in the start. Over his 80.1 innings and 6-3 record this year, Miley has a 3.14 ERA with 65 Ks and 21 BBs. Over on the Reds’ side, they just finished up against the Rangers this weekend. Cincinnati fell in the first two games 7-1 and 4-3 in that set, then Sunday the Reds won 11-3. In the Monday outing, the Reds are sending out Luis Castillo for the start. Over his 81.2 innings and 6-1 record this year, Castillo has a 2.20 ERA with 96 Ks and 38 BBs.
The Astros are 46-16 in their last 62 in game one of a series and 36-17 in their last 53 Monday games. Houston is 4-0 in Miley’s last four starts in game one of a series and 8-2 in his last 10 starts.
Meanwhile, the Reds(custom Cincinnati Reds championship rings) are 9-3 in Castillo’s last 12 starts versus a team with a winning record and 9-4 in his last 13 in game one of a series. Cincinnati is 13-6 in Castillo’s last 19 home starts and the over is 3-0-1 in their last four Monday games.
This looks to be a pretty darn good pitching matchup. Miley has three quality starts in his last four outings and has given up just six earned in 24.0 innings during that span.
As for Castillo, he has consecutive quality starts to his credit and has surrendered three earned in 17.1 innings over his last three outings.
All things considered here however, Houston(championship rings for sale) is simply the better team and I’m going with them on a victory.
