Angels get: Brad Peacock SP HOU - $2.43/4yrs with TO Jake Junis SP KC - $1.02/TC3 Stephen Gonsalves SP MIN - $0.5/TC1
Cubs get: Corey Kluber SP CLE - $9.75/$13.5TO/$14TO/UFA Roansy Contreras P NYY - $0.2 prospect
Kluber can go straight to my IL
Sounds like Kluber could be out awhile with the broken forearm, but I figure I should be able to wait that out and cross my fingers he makes it back for the playoffs. Peacock has one of the best SP contracts in the league at $2.43 for 4 yrs, so giving him up is especially tough. But he’s had a slow start to the season similar to Kluber; but I expect Kluber should be an upgrade once he’s back healthy. Junis is a solid SP still in his TC contract, but he’s been on my farm all season so he’s a piece I can afford to give up to make this trade happen. Gonsalves shredded both AA and AAA last season so he was expected to be part of my MLB team this year, but an arm injury has kept him sidelined so far. Hopefully he gets healthy and can help the Angels later in the season. Best of luck to the Angels and thanks for the deal.

Hard decision to move on from one of my heads of my staff. However with his injury and Alex Wood being on DL all season so far I was down to 4 SP. I needed to add pitchers and I felt like taking a chance on Peacock being more consistent and making his contract a great value. As a 9 point SP, its good but not great, I'd love him to score a few more points and make it worth it lol. Junis is a fill in guy for me, but a cheap one so that helps. Hoping Gonsalves can get healthy and be a quality arm for me. I also save a little salary cap moving forward.
Thanks for the deal cubbies
