After about a 2 minute negotiation the Braves & D-Backs have agreed to the following trade...
Braves get: Dan Straily, SP, FA. 2019/4.71M 2020/ARB2 2021/ARB3 2022/UFA
D-Backs get: Jose King, SS, Tigers. 2019/0.2MProspect Jake Irvin, SP, Nats. 2019/0.2M Prospect
For us this was a chance to recoup some of our minor league depth we have been dealing away. Straily became expendable when he was released by the Marlins. We are sure he hooks up with someone in a few days and we wish him the best, we just needed the prospects more.
King is a very young IFA signee who a god bit is expected from in Detroit, though he is several years of development away from being relevant. Irvin is a good looking pitcher that should be a backend starter in a couple years.
Thanks to the Braves for making this quick and easy like our deals always tend to be.

For a fairly cheap return I am taking the chance Straily hooks up with a team and enters their rotation. There are a few teams that he would be an upgrade for. If not, I basically give two prospects away for nothing. 🤷🏻♂️.
Thanks D backs and good luck!
