Dodgers are pleased to announce a restructured deal for Indians 2019 1st and 2nd round draft picks (Picks 1.30 and 2.30 in the upcoming draft for the players selected in the June 2019 First Year Player Draft).
In exchange for both picks, Dodgers send a package of prospects, headlined by Marlins SS Jose Devers, along with Red Sox pitching prospects Kyle Hart and Emmanuel Dejesus, along with $1.5 IFA.
While giving up one of the top 15 prospects in the Marlins system already at the High A level with a solid hit tool, the opportunity to gain two more picks in the 1st and 2nd rounds of next year's First Year Player Draft, was enough to deal Devers and the $1.5 in IFA $. Although Hart and Dejesus are pitching prospects, including these two in the deal were about making room for the two draft picks coming to the Dodgers.
Appreciate the Indians GM negotiating this deal, and we wish Devers, Hart and Dejesus the best in their new organization.

Cleveland accepts the deal and thanks the Dodgers for the swift negotiations.
We've been keen to secure Jose Devers to our farm system and it was great to get him into the franchise. There are a number of international prospects we're keen to pursue in the near future and based on previous salaries that have been paid to IFAs, the additional funds are absolutely necessary to secure 1-2 of the top prospects. Hart and Dejesus are pitching prospects that might develop and add depth to our farm system
We haven't seen any of our former first or second round picks have much impact to our roster as we always pick so late in the draft and we'd prefer to have the additional IFA funds and Devers, along with the pitchers.
