Milwaukee receives Malcom Nunez 0.2 Miami's 3rd pick in 2019
Miami receives Zack Shannon 0.2 3.5M in IFA pool $
This was a complex deal that took many forms before we ultimately settled on the above. For us to give up Malcom Nunez prior to what we believe will be his coming out party was not a decision that was taken lightly by our front office. This kid is going to hit. When he's done that he will hit some more. There's an advanced approach, and a mature frame that already posses 70 raw power at 17. Our current depth at 3B in the minors made this deal possible and well, you have to give to get. The big grab for Miami here is a sizable chunk of IFA $. This positions us favourably to focus on some upcoming big ticket players for the 2019 J2 signing period. We have a talented international scouting department here in Miami. Having access to the resources needed to capatalize on their talents is very important to the success of our organization.
We again thank Milwaukee Jerry for the negotiations. I'm not sure who has a bigger bone for Nunez, you or I, but I do know that your desire to acquire him was not lacking. I think that this will be a good deal for both of us. It just may take a long time to bear fruit.
Cheers

Brewers accept. Again, this deal was in conjunction with the earlier one.
We're pleased to be able to add Nunez to our team in addition to the draft pick. The main factor in this deal for the Marlins was the IFA money.
Both players are likely a far way away from the bigs but at least Shannon is several years older and attended college already. In fact, he's even been named the D2 collegiate player of the year.
Thanks again to the Marlins for the deal.
