Braves get: Brian Dozier 2B FA - $13.5/4yrs (Cubs are covering 50% for 2019 only) Nick Williams LF/RF PHI - $2 - TC3 Brad Keller SP KC - $0.5/$0.75TO/UFA Julio Pablo Martinez CF TEX - $0.2 prospect Shed Long 2B CIN - $0.2 prospect
Cubs get: Gleyber Torres 2B/SS NYY - $1 - TC2
This one came together pretty quick and surprisingly started with an inquiry on Brad Keller of all players. Funny how trades come together sometimes. It feels like a steep price to pay for essentially just upgrading from Dozier to Torres in my lineup, but I am really Hogg on Torres. His TC2 contract provides me some cheap control as well to help offset some of the significant raises I’ll need to give in the coming year or two. I think he could do big things in that Yanks lineup too. Dozier had a tough season last year but he was elite for 4 or 5 years before that and still just 31, so I wouldn’t be surprised at all to see him match Torres’ production for the next couples years even. Best of luck to Braves and thanks for the quick and amicable negotiations. That’s what makes these leagues so great!

On the surface it looks like a good deal for me. But my heart and head really hates giving up a superstar at such a young age with that contract and that potential in the Yankees lineup.
Main thing it comes down to is depth is key in these leagues, and I got a lot of pieces I like. There are some concerns such as Dozier’s age, where is he going to play? Was last year the start of a big decline? Does Philly go all in and it puts Nick Williams out of a starting job?
Looking at the whole deal even with concerns I have a lot of chances for players with solid production.
Good Quick negations Josh and good luck with your new superstar.
