The Brewers and Royals would like to announce a trade!
Brewers trade:
Royals trade:
As evidenced by recent moves, the Brewers are tired of sitting around and waiting for things to happen, they've decided to make a few things happen, namely, spending some prospect capital to improve the MLB roster. It would be hard for someone to say this move doesn't do that. Segura is a superstar SS in the prime of his career. Schoop has a down year last year, but he displayed his massive potential in 2017 and is prime for a bounce-back 2019. Both players are locked up for the long term. We were also able to add a couple prospects we like in Fuentes and Dohy. Fuentes is rocketing through the minors and will be making a push for MLB time sooner than later. Dohy is a 2017 draftee who's already ascended to Double-A. He looks to have a very promising arm. We look forward to see his development this year.
Of course, there are two sides to every trade. We had to give up some players we didn't want to. Willy has already made it to the bigs and looks to have a long career in front of him. Lou was electric out of the bullpen last year and is locked into one sweet, team-friendly deal. Lauer showed promise last year as well in his first run through the bigs. Capel, Thorpe, and Potts were all fan favorites and all look to have MLB careers ahead of them. We wish them will with their new teamand appreciate all their contributions to the Brewers organization.
Thanks to the Royals for the quick and friendly trade banter. There was lots of back and forth, always lots of fun. Best of luck to them in the future. It will be fun to see how all these young guys do.
