For
New York Mets Receive:
Jake Lamb - ARZ (3B) - 3.9 (19) / 3.9 (20) / 3.9 (21) / 5.85 TO (22)
We wish Jake the best in his recovery from last years injury woes. We have been working hard at rebuilding a strong farm and we are happy to have obtained Xavier Edwards. We believe he is going to be a special player in the next few years. Mercado has an arsenal we really like, and Swanson/Thompson-Williams could make an impact on the club sooner than later with Seattle in a full rebuild. This trade keeps us going in the right direction. Thanks to the Mets for good negotiations.

The New York Mets accept this trade.
The managementĀ“s main goal for this offseason was finding a midterm solution for third base. Jake Lamb is a former All-Star who is still young enough to reach 30HR/100RBI on a regular basis. Our main return was Xavier Edwards who was coveted by a number of teams and was made available due to solid depth at middle infield all through the Mets organization. Mercado, Thompson-Williams and Swanson are good prospects as well and were added make this trade a pleasant one for both sides.
We thank the Twins general manager for the constructive trade talks and wish Xavier, Michael, Eric and Dom lots of success with their new organization.
Welcome to funky New York Jake and as always letĀ“s go Mets!
