T Alexander 0.2
D Strotman TB 0.2
I am paying 50% on Yelich and Gausman this season to make the money work.
I wasn’t sure I would get an offer I liked for Yelich, didn’t think he would move, let alone with Gausman with him, but this trade checked all the boxes for me.
I was looking for a young CF. Almora has impressed me And the Cubs as well I think by basically taking over the CF and lead off job. I was looking for an Elite pitching prospect (Honeywell) was about to be a big deal this year until the unfortunate news of TJ. I am in the position to be able to wait for him to heal. Another elite prospect in Hays. Will he play CF or RF. I could use him at either. Hiura- Another Prospect I like. He is likely more valuable in fantasy than in real life. His questions irl are his defense. I don’t care where he plays but I know his bat will find a home. Shaw was kicked in for money reasons. Alexander and Strotman were two lottery ticket arms I have hope for. Strotman throws really hard and has had some early success while Alexander is pitching well in AA for an organization that doesn’t currently have much for pitching at the mlb level.
Now as for what I lost.
Proven talent with Yelich and Gausman who are both pretty contract friendly. It Happens. I’m excited about the pieces I got in return so the loss doesn’t hurt too bad. We were at a little snag until Rutherford was added. He is a top 100 prospect I personally am not real high on and I have a ton of OF depth to afford him going.
Overall good deal Danny. It was an interesting one and will be fun to see how it all plays out.
