With a quick negotiation the Mets & D-Backs have agreed to the following...
Mets get:
Ramon Marcelino, RF, Rockies. 2018/.2M - prospect
D-Backs get:
Matt Harvey, SP, Mets. 2018/7.7M 2019/7.7M 2020/7.7M 2021/7.7M 2022/TO 11.55
Ramon Marcelino is a quality, albeit young, prospect who is on the rise in the Rockies system. We hate to see him go, but with the recent trade of Pomeranz and the lack of production from Tomlin, so far, we felt the need to add another SP and the situation, timing, and price was right to make this deal. Even though Harvey is in the bullpen for a short stretch, we believe the Dark Knight will rise again under the watchful eye of Mickey Calloway. At 29 he is by no means old and could easily have a resurgence back to a #3 or 4 SP. We are willing to take that chance on an SP we have always had a soft spot for.
Thank you to the Mets GM for the deal, we are aware this was a hard one to do, and as always, appreciate it!

Thank you to the Mets GM for the deal, we are aware this was a hard one to do, and as always, appreciate it! They New York Mets accept this deal. Mankind has visited the moon, we are developing automotive cars and printers which print houses as well as internal organs but it‘s absolutely impossible to change a SP to RP on Fantrax. I don’t want to give up the season in April so having Harvey block a spot in my starting rotation was not an option. I would have loved to keep Harvey around but decided to cut ties due to the aforementioned issue. Before having to waive the dark knight I tried to trade him for any kind of return in order to free up his SP spot and some salary. I want to thank Donnie for the easy trade talks and wish Matt all the best in sunny Arizona. Welcome to New York, Ramon, and let’s go Mets!
