After a very quick negotiation the Mets & D-Backs have agreed to the following trade...
Mets get:
Mark Vientos, SS/3B, Mets. 2018/.25M - prospect
D-Backs get:
Joseph Rosa, 2B, Mariners. 2018/.2M - prospect
Wei-Yin Chen, SP, Marlins. 2018/.5M 2019/TO .75M
As an organization you hate giving up quality prospects, which Vientos is. But, we are still searching for the right combinations, with that we wish him well in his new home.
In Chen we get an SP who when healthy is still able to put good performances out there. He is cheap and can control him for another year or so if he is performing. In Rosa we get a decent 2B prospect to take a little of the sting out of dealing Vientos.
As always, thanks to the Mets GM for easy negotiations that led to this deal. Hopefully it pans out for both of us!

The Mets front office accepts this deal.
Chen is about to come back from the DL and was originally meant to be a depth piece in case of an injury to one of my starting pitchers. With everyone being healthy and doing well (except Harvey that is ) there is no room for Chen in the Mets rotation and he is expendable. Joseph Rosa, a promising infield prospect, has been added to our offer in order to receive a high-end talent in Vientos.
Vientos was the youngest player drafted last year and still years away. But ultra-optimistic comparisons to Manny Machado caught my interest. Still a lottery ticket he fits into my organization´s strategy of steadily building a respectable farm system now.
I would like to thank the Diamondback´s general manager for the constructive negotations and wish Joseph and Wei-Yin all the best in Arizona.
Welcome to funky New York, Mark, and lets go Mets!
