Hendricks is a nice pitcher for a good team and locked up very cheap so we were ideally looking for multiple top prospects in return. Instead the centerpiece coming back is a nice young high upside arm that will back at some point next year along with a couple prospects with potential. I wasn’t sure I’d deal Hendricks but I like the return, get younger, and continue to build toward the future

After some negotiation The Yankees settle with giving up these players to land a Quality Starter of Hendricks Caliber. He is on a contending team IRL and it also pairs him with Lester on our roster, which helps to ensure they cannot be starting on the same day, with the exception on a Double Header IRL, which is a rarity. He also has a very team friendly contract and is locked up until 2022 with a TO in 2023. We are in a win now mode with the rotation we have and wanted to add one more pitcher of quality to it.
We don't like parting with Lamet as we feel he will be a stud when he comes back, but that is a long wait, and of course there is always a chance he is not the same.
Lange could be a good starter one day, but again we are looking to round out our rotation now, and feel we still have some good quality arms in our farm, even with giving him up.
Nottingham seems to be MLB ready now as he is up IRL, but he could be going up and down this year, and we have 3 MLB catchers on our roster, plus other prospects in our minors.
We feel this trade will take us to the next level now!!!
