Again, trading a stud with a great contract but the goal is to get younger. With most of my division in more of a win now approach it appears, I am attempting to build a good young core that will start to compete soon and for the long haul. Springer isn’t old, but again I like the return, six players for one is hard to pass up, if I can hit on 3 I’ll take it.
Rotowire is a good base I like to use for my rankings as they do more than just a top 100.
I get three top 100 players from their rankings (Calhoun, Chavis, Tucker) and Ray was close.
Calhoun and Chavis are also top 100 on mlb.com
While a few have questions like Calhoun defensively. The chavis suspension, And although he has electric stuff will Alvarez be a starter or reliver, I believe the upside of these prospects was enough to pull the trigger.

As the Braves said, the majority of those prospects are in or close the top 100 and the likes of Chavis and Calhoun are firm fan favourites.
I've spent the whole off season trying to grow the Cleveland farm system acquiring players we like a lot.
So it hurts to move all the pieces we've spent time but to acquire a player like Springer who can be the long term solution in RF for us is simply to good to turn down.
Thanks to the Braves for the good negotiations as always and he's got a lot of potential in that roster!
