After some negotiation The Cubs and D-Backs have agreed to the following trade.....
Cubs get:
Steven Duggar, CF, Giants. 2018/.2M - prospect Cionel Perez, SP, Astros. 2018/.2M - prospect
D-Backs get:
Dean Deetz, SP, Astros. 2018/.2M - prospect Jurickson Profar, 2B, Rangers. 2018/1.65M 2019/ARB3
The Diamondbacks hate to see Duggar and Perez leave as they are both promising prospects. But in Deetz we get a kid with an upper 90s fastball and solid power slider. Was great at AA and took a step back in limited AAA action. He just has to refine his control a bit and he could be in their rotation next season.
As for Profar, we have a deep need for infield depth and it looks like this year the plan for Profar is to get him the at bats he deserves by making him a super utility guy. There are reports he may also platoon in LF as well as some time at most infield positions. The management here still sees a lot of talent in him and the fact he is only 25. He has just never received much of a chance at the big league level...looks like he'll get it this year.
We would also like to thank the Cubs management for very quick and productive negotiations...we appreciate it.

Thanks for the deal Donnie. I was looking forward to Profar gaining eligibility at a bunch of positions this year and serving as cheap IF depth for my team. There's definitely still some talent in him and this season could be the chance he needs to finally start producing in the bigs. But the Dbacks came knocking for him and Duggar especially caught my eye as a potential piece I'd like back. I just drafted him in the Backyard Baseball league since he seems to have a good chance to take over the starting CF job for the Giants perhaps even to start this season. He's still a good CF prospect even if he ends up starting the season in AAA. And the upgrade from Deetz to Perez, both HOU SP prospects, was enough to seal the deal for me. Best of luck to Profar and the Dbacks!
