After much back and forth....prodding and prying...the D-Backs and Marlins have agreed to the following trade...
Marlins get:
Sixto Sanchez, SP, Phillies. 2018/.2M - prospect Francisco Morales, SP, Phillies. 2018/.2M - prospect Jermaine Palacios, 3B, Twins. 2018/.4M - prospect
Diamondbacks get:
Triston McKenzie, SP, Indians. 2018/.2M - prospect Freddy Tarnok, SP, Braves. 2018/.2M - prospect
The management for the D-Backs truly hate to see Sixto go. They had turned down multiple offers and requests for negotiations. But, the return of McKenzie made it worth exploring and eventually doing the deal. We feel that while Sixto has received all the hype, and deservedly so, that McKenzie is just starting to grab the national attention he deserves. He is the future #1 for the Tribe (once Klubot hangs it up) and could be in their rotation as early as 2019.
The addition of Tarnok is interesting in that he just began to pitch a couple years ago and is already in the Braves top 30. We feel it is a nice piece, in no small part, because the Braves know a little something about developing pitchers. We hate to give up on Morales, who is flying a bit under everyone's radar, for now and Palacios who is a solid prospect for the Twins, but it is a deal we felt the need to do.
Thank you to the Marlins GM, Dave, for sticking out the negotiations and being willing to pull the trigger on a deal that works for both of us. It was a fun negotiation.

Marlins agree.
McKenzie was not an easy arm to let go of. Being able to add 2 key pitching prospects in Sanchez and Morales from the same organization, to go along with Ranger Suarez already in our system seemed like a solid longterm plan to help avoid the pitfalls of the roster set up. They may or not make it to the Phils together but if they do I really like that as a strength of my future rotation.
Polacios was some icing on the cake, he is worth taking the flier on.
Thanks Donnie for a positive negotiation.
