NYM Receives: OF Monte Harrison prospect SP David Peterson prospect
SFG Receives: RP Raisel Iglesias 4.5 '18/ 5 '19/ 5 '20/ UFA SP Devin Smelzter prospect CF T.J. Freidl prospect
This move solidifies my bullpen as Iglesias will go nicely next to Cody Allen in the 'pen. I really believe Freidl will be a great player looking to contribute within the next years at the big league level. Smelzter is also a guy that I believe in, but was willing to give up Harrison and Peterson to solidify my bullpen for 2018 and for Iglesias, he is on a very good deal for me for the future as well.
The Mets are getting a great prospects in Monte Harrison and David Peterson. He should be very happy with what he is getting in this deal while having to deal Iglesias.

The New York Mets accept the deal.
After spending most of the offseason building a younger and more dynamic MLB roster I have now turned attention to my well below average MILB system. Harrison as a top 100 prospect and Peterson as a first rounder in last year´s amateur draft provide some much needed quality. The main return in this deal is Raisel Iglesias who is one of the most valuable relievers in our scoring system because he often pitches multiple innings when closing games - and doing it by striking out more than a batter per inning. Adding Friedl and Smeltzer made the deal fair in my opinion.
I thank the Giants front office for the good trade talks and wish Raisel, Devin and T.J. a great time in sunny but sometimes surprsingly cold San Francisco.
Welcome to New York Monte and David and let´s go Mets!
