After considerable back and forth the Brewers and D-Backs have come to the following agreement...
Diamondbacks receive:
Keone Kela, RP, Rangers. 2018/1.52M 2019/ARB 2 2020/ARB 3
Nick Goody, RP, Indians. 2018/1.02 2019/2.04 + 3 years ARB eligible
Julian Merryweather. SP, Indians. 2018/.2 - prospect
Aaron Civale, SP, Indians. 2018/.8 - prospect
Brewers receive: Brent Rooker, LF/CF/RF, Twins. 2018/.25 - prospect Clarke Schmidt, SP, Yankees. 2018/.3 - prospect Dakota Hudson, SP, Cardinals. 2018/.2 - prospect Ryan Helsley, SP, Cardinals. 2018/.2 - prospect Tyler Stephenson, C, Reds. 2018/.2 - prospect
The Diamondbacks have worked hard at doubling the size and quality of their MiLB system since arriving, so they decided to use a few to grab 2 RP's in Goody & Kela who at quality relievers and both ready to take the next step (and do it cheaply). Kela has closer stuff and should eventually end up in that role. As for Goody, he had a tremendous rookie season and with Shaw & Smith leaving in Cleveland he should step up into more high leverage situations. We also received the 2nd best SP prospect in the Tribe's organization in Merryweather, and in Civale a young guy who is climbing the organizational ladder.
Overall we are very happy with the deal and the negotiations with the Brewers GM.

The Brewers accept.
The Brew Crew continues to stockpile high-upside arms in its minor league system and is pleased to bring Hudson, Helsley and Schmidt into the fold. Rooker and Stephenson are also highly regarded in their organizations and we're glad to be bringing them on here.
Best of luck to Kela, Goody, Merryweather and Civale with their new team.
Thanks to the Diamondbacks for the swift negotiations.
