Miami sends Pavin Smith 0.2 rookie Oscar De La Cruz 0.2 rookie
Milwaukee sends AJ Minter (TC1) 0.5, 1, 2 Nick Pratto 0.2 rookie
In AJ Minters brief stint in 2017 he displayed some serious swing and miss stuff. What's his future role with the Braves? High leverage situations seem inevitable if he continues on this track.
Nick Pratto a 1B prospect drafted out of HS may not be taking the typical route to an MLB 1B. He has shown great athleticism on both sides of the ball. The swing is clean and the power is easy. He will need to improve his contact rate to reach his potential. With KC in full rebuild I'm looking for Pratto to be a part of their resurgence in the future.
Sending Pavin Smith wasn't an easy choice. With Trey Mancini manning 1B in Miami for the foreseeable future he was a player that could be moved to set Mancinis succesion date back a few years. His inclusion in the deal was definitely what moved the needle for Milwaukee.
Oscar De La Cruz added to the Cubs 40 man in 2017, is one of the top arms in their system.
I wish Pavin and Oscar much success with the new club. Negotiations were swift which leads me to believe that both owners are very happy with this deal. Thanks Jerry it was a pleasure as always.
As for AJ and Nick, welcome to Miami boys it's going to be a party.

The Brewers accept.
It was just a few days ago the Brewers thought they had acquired their 1B of the future in Pratto. How quickly things can change. We couldn't pass up the opportunity to get Pavin Smith, our new 1B of the future. He has tremendous upside with that sweet, powerful stroke of his. He should climb through the minor league ranks quickly.
We weren't all that familiar with De La Cruz initially, but after some research found that he's shown great promise in the minors thus far and has gotten better and better each year. It won't be long and he'll be pushing for a shot at the bigs.
We hadn't originally planned on moving Minter again as he looks to be locked into that back of the bullpen and could be in for a much bigger role this year. We sincerely apologize for shipping him off again in such short order but again the opportunity was too good to pass up.
Best of luck to both AJ and Nick with their new team.
