COL Trades: Justin Nicolino, SP MIA -- 4, 8, ARB1, ARB2, ARB3, UFA Domingo Leyba, 2B/SS ARI--Prospect Dakota Hudson, SP STL--Prospect Mickey Moniac, OF PHI-Prospect Oscar Gonzalez, OF CLE -- Prospect
ARI Trades:
Daniel Murphy, 2B WAS -- 17.5 UFA Christian Arroyo, 3B/SS -- Prospect
Agree--This trade gives me the 2B I desperately needed in Murphy. While he may be a one year rental I do have the option of extending him before the season if I feel the high price is worth it. By adding Moniak I was able to get Arroyo as well. Getting traded to TB gives him and even more chance of starting in MLB this year and adds depth to my team. I hate trading Moniak at the low point of his value but getting the flexibility now made it worth it. I gave up a bit of depth in my minors to add depth to my majors now. Overall pretty good for both teams I believe.

Arizona agrees with this trade.
Nicolino hopefully gives me a bit of an option at SP this year and for a few to come. It was a good prospect package that accompanied him, which is what I wanted. Adding Moniak was a big plus, even though it cost me some help this year in Arroyo. The future with him outweighed the short term benefit.
I think this deal was a win, in different ways, for both teams.
