Tigers trade
Jack Flaherty 18/.5 19/1 20/2 21/arb1 Sam Travis 18/1.02 19/2.04 20/arb1 Matt Manning .2 Jesus Sanchez .2 Austin Riley .2
Cubs trade
Nick Gordon .2 Ryan Vilade .25 Jacob Pearson .2
Tigers accept. This was something we worked at for quite a while. I benefit by trading a lot of future upside in Manning and Sanchez for a top 30 prospect with a much nearer ETA. Vilade and Pearson give me some of that upside back for positions I am strong at. We both are picking up thing we like, and trading things we didn’t set out to trade. But in the end, we both are coming away happy.

Thanks for the deal Tony. Gordon and Vilade were especially tough to part with. But I’ve been crippling my farm depth with some recent trades so making a top 30 guy like Gordon available allowed me to bring back multiple prospects from the tier or two below and regain some depth. Manning is likely a few years away still but he was another one of my draft picks from the initial draft that I’ve always liked. He should climb the ranks as he progresses through the minors. Riley was another of my initial draftees that I’m happy to get back. Sanchez is a couple years away too but another guy I expect to climb. Flaherty provides me a little extra SP insurance too since he’s likely just an injury or two away from a spot in the Cardinals rotation this year. Best of luck Tony!
