To Toronto
SS Fernando Tatis Jr. - Minors 0.2
To Miami
SP CLE Triston McKenzie - Minors 0.2 SP TOR Nate Pearson - Minors 0.25 SP NYM Thomas Szapucki - Minors 0.2
Tough for me to trade so much pitching but Tatis is a guy I had my eye on after trading Brendan Rodgers earlier in the offseason. I wanted to add some SS depth back to my farm team at SS as Maitan and Lewis are both likely a few years away from contributing. With Kopech and Reyes atop my depth chart for SP's on the farm it was a little easier to part with McKenzie even though he's likely a top 10 or borderline top 5 SP prospect. As a Jays fan I hope Pearson turns into our next Thor (who we don't trade this time) even though it will eat me up knowing I traded him in this league. Good luck to Miami.

Miami agrees to this deal.
Sending away a concensus top 10 prospect in 2018 is never an easy decision. Triston McKenzie is a very exciting arm for us to bring into the organization. Bringing in 2 additional arms with high upside adds great depth at SP for us going forward.
Best of luck to the Jays.
