Tigers accept. I don’t like giving up Fulmer, but I have enough young pitching already accumulated for my MLB staff this season, and am pumped to add Groome to Wright, Quantrill, Manning, and Pint in my prospect pool. Also, Fulmer is coming off surgery, and that scares me a little bit. Contreras was someone I had no intention of moving, but I fill in my RF spot with Renfroe, and Mondesi alllows me to move Happ to an OF spot if necessary and gives me some depth and flexibility. Collins has a great bat, and could be huge if he sticks behind the plate, but will hit even if he moves. Rogers is sure to stick behind the plate, and if his bat from last year holds, would be a top player at the position. These players play better to my timeline, and are in line to hit the show around the same time as my current premium talent. All in all, I add a top 35 prospect in Groome, 2 former top 100 prospects that will move into my lineup, and 2 top 10 catching prospects. I believe this is a deal that will make me better this season, and benefit me more in the long term as well. Thanks for the easy deal, Cubs. Good luck!

Another big move for the Cubs. I think this deal helps both my current and future lineup by solidifying my starting C longterm and rounding out a formidable rotation with Fulmer as the SP3. Fulmer has been a QS machine over his first couple seasons in the bigs and I’d consider Contreras at top 5 C for this season and beyond. Both guys are still on TC contracts so I have a 2-3 year window here before the ARB increases really start to cause me big headaches.
My strategy from the very start has been to acquire talented depth whenever possible; even if it meant sacrificing a playoff chance in year 1 (which it did... but it was down to the wire at least...). Step 2 was to leverage the talented depth to round out my MLB roster once the time was right to compete. The time is now for the Cubs!! So although it was tough to give up so much young talent, especially Collins, Renfroe and Groome, they were all depth pieces for my team and allowed me to acquire talented MLB players who will improve my chances for a title both this year as well as for a couple more years to come.
Best of luck to be Tigers and thanks for a quick negotiation. Always a pleasure.
