The Brewers and Braves would like to announce a trade!

The Brewers have come to the realization that their chances of making the playoffs this year are very slim. They've started looking forward to next year. Tomas is young and under contract for several years yet and plays in one of the better offenses in the league. His prior year stats prove that he's a very capable offensive threat. Heaney is nearing a rehab assignment after a year's recovery from Tommy John surgery. He has a very favorable contract and he had a very successful 2015 season. Getting him could be a steal. It's a bit of a homecoming for Erceg as he was previously with the Brewers and had expressed interest in coming back. Burdi recently underwent Tommy John surgery himself, but prior to that had all the traits of a future stud closer.
Shark had expressed an interest in going to a contending team at this point in his career and the Brewers tried to make it happen. He's had a bit of a down year, but his past speaks for itself and he's due for some positive regression to the mean in the 2nd half. Diaz had been a bit up and down earlier in the year but he's been lights out lately. Always hard to give up such a promising young player but it's a business and you have to give to get. Pirela's been a bit of a surprise this year as a former rule 5 pick but he's seized the opportunity and has been an everyday player in the San Diego lineup.
The Brewers wish Jeff, Edwin and Jose the best with their new team and their hunt for the playoffs. They would also like to welcome Yasmany, Andrew, Lucas and Zack to the Brew Crew and look forward to many prosperous years together!
Best of luck to the Braves and thanks for the trade.
