Cubs get: Ryan McMahon 3B/1B/2B COL - $0.2 prospect
Rockies get: Sean Reid-Foley SP TOR - $0.2 prospect Austin Hays RF BAL - $0.2 prospect
Believe it or not, this is the 3rd time the Cubs have acquired McMahon this season. I selected him in the initial draft, had to part with him in the blockbuster deal for Machado with OAK, later re-acquired him from OAK only to need to include him in a large prospect swap with the Rockies, and now paying a premium to get him back again. Needless to say, I really like McMahon. I think he could be a fantasy beast hitting at Coors field in the Rockies potent lineup as soon as this season.
The price was pretty steep though and the Rockies drove a hard bargain for me to get him back. Hays is currently mashing the minors with stats comparable to McMahon's lofty numbers. And Reid-Foley is a legit top SP prospect as well. Best of luck to the Rockies and thanks for the deal.

I really hated to move McMahon as he is a player I really like and think will be on the Rockies some time this year. But I have good minor league depth at 3B and really needed a future RF that will hopefully be up sometime next year. Hays has done nothing but hit since he was drafted so I like his potential of being a productive MLB hitter. Even though Foley is struggling at AA this year his high K rate means that he will get many chances to succeed at higher levels--and you can never have too much pitching depth.
