Joe Kelly, RP, LAS - 20/$1.67 21/$1.67 22/UFA

LAA receives:

Zack Reks, OF, LAD - $0.2 prospect
Ben Ruta, OF, NYY - $0.2 prospect
Jerryell Rivera, RP, LAA - $0.2 prospect

LAA opens more room on the 40 man and is happy to pick up a couple of prospects that made some improvements last year. Reks had a peer breakout and send on the doorstep, Ruta had a great first half before fading and Rivera is a lefty lottery pick with good velocity. Kelly is a great depth piece but it's a depth piece with the bullpen currently constructed.

I was looking for a quality reliever and Kelly might be just that after his very solid second half in LA. Joe should have plenty of hold opportunities with the Dodgers super team. Giving up some MILB depth is a fair price in my opinion.

I would like to thank the Angels GM for the easy negotiations and wish Zack, Ben and Jerry a great time in California.
