The Dodgers have been coming after Sev for weeks and I finally relented once both Albies and Vaughn were in play. Luckily Dodgers had Albies to fill a hole in my lineup now that Baez is losing 2B eligibility. And Vaughn moved the needle for me as a 2nd piece to bring me to the table here. Hoping Vaughn can take over for Rizzo at 1B in my lineup once his contract is up after next season. Thanks for the deal Justin. Best of luck with this 4th ace in your rotation!

Dodgers accept this deal. This is the type of trade we were looking to make in acquiring Albies. The fortuity of Yankees signing Cole led to talks with Cubbies for Severino. While giving up Vaughn will surely be felt, perhaps as early as this year, the opportunity to aquire Severino as a 4th SP on a fixed salary for 4 years and potentially longer was enough to include Vaughn in this deal. Best of luck to Cubbies with new stud 2B and future ChiSox 1B.
