My pitching staff has taken a hit with injuries and demotions, needed get somebody who can cover some innings through the summer for me and didn't mind parting with 2 prospects to make it happen.

I wanted to make room for an Abbott call up and with Medina being out of options getting two nice prospects was a good way to go for me. Houck was the real life 1st Mets pick in the 2023 amateur draft and Etzel is an up and coming prospect from the strong Baltimore farm system. Nice return.
